Overboard DVD
Now available: The TPS Overboard DVD

A useful training tool to use at your yacht club or marina safety day.

Research has shown that getting a boat alongside a person who has fallen overboard, is not difficult.

Getting the victim back on board, is!

This DVD was first issued as a VHS video by the Toronto Power and Sail Squadron as a 40th Anniversary project. 20 years later, the squadron is pleased to reissue it in DVD format.

The methods proposed in this DVD are as valid to day as they were when the project was first attempted: the “QUICK-STOP” method still remains the most effective way of bringing a sailboat alongside a person in the water in the quickest and safest manner.
Running time: 12 minutes 30 seconds. Ideal for safety seminar use.

How to order: Mail your cheque in the amount of $20, payable to Toronto Power & Sail Squadron, to:

Commander, TPS
253 Cranbrooke Avenue, Toronto, ON M5M 1M8

We will send the DVD by first class mail.  There are no other charges. Sorry, no credit cards

Sources of weather information

Ron Bianchi, for many years the "Weather Man" on the Weather Network and currently the Director of Meteorology - Worldwide Operations with Golder Associates Ltd., gave an outstanding presentation at our recent AGM. He has kindly provided a resource document of links to a wide variety of weather information.
