1948 -
Celebrating 60 years of volunteer service - 2008 |
Toronto Power and Sail Squadron was the
first squadron within the Canadian Power and Sail Squadrons to
receive its charter, on December 1, 1948. Although two other
squadrons were formed prior to WWII (Windsor and Sarnia in 1938 and
1939 respectively), they did not receive their charters until 1949.
The national organization looks to 1938 as its actual formation date
and, for that reason, is celebrating 2008 as its 75th year of
operation. The anniversary will be celebrated at the National
Conference at Windsor in October 2008. |
